- track academic allstate
hi all last spring i had two of my athletes finish in the top 8. at the time, i was of the opinion that they needed to be top 3 in their event to earn academic all state. i have since learned that if you place top 8 in an event you are eligible for academic all state. i woud like to rectify this situation for these two athletes if possible. can anyone tell me who i could contact to see if this situation can be fixed? thank you in advance for any help you can provide. stan holmes head coachflushing girls trackflushing girls cross country - 9th/10th grade meet
Being that someone asked about a 9th/10th grade meet, I thought I would send this out to everyone. Monroe Jefferson hosts a 9th/10th grade invitational on April 18th this year. We have openings for teams and we can run it pretty efficiently for your last Saturday coming off spring break. Attached is our info sheet. Thanks for your time and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. - RE: 9th/10th Meets

Dear Coach,
Grand Rapids West Catholic and Grand Rapids Catholic Central will
co-host the fourth annual Cougar Falcon Open in the Grand Rapids area on
9/26/2008. This is a week later than 2007 consistent with the state
meet being a week later next year.
We plan to contest two divisions in varsity. We offer the following races: - MITCA ANNOUNCES 2008 CROSS COUNTRY AWARD WINNERS, for immediate release

Ray Antel here...I require all of my athletes to wear watches to practices...not as important
on Mondays but most are "trained to wear them" even on Mondays.Showing up to practice without your watch is like coming to football

KevinI guess it is a matter of coaching philosophy. I would not let an athlete wear
a watch in competition. Time is irrelevant, it is place that is important,
they do keep score.I coached in Indiana for 10 years where they could wear watches & I didn't let
my athletes wear them. concentrate on beating runners. This is a union shop, - Re: Watches and XC

I don't remember the exact numbers, but feel free to comment there and
if anyone had the exact vote numbers, please let me know so I can
reflect those accurately.
Sorry I missed including this link in the prior email. - Re: Watches and XC
I'll have to say I sat there dumbfounded when the results were read.
In reality you need to define watch, because they now come with heart
rate monitors and gps and are much more than merely a time piece. That
question may have confused some people. But it always does poorly. I
don't get it. But a large number of coaches did vote no! - RE: Watches and XC
I do find it ironic that our state would like to open up some rules such
as travel restrictions and post season competition (NXN), yet we would
like to restrict our kids still in other areas.Dan

Coaches,
Hoping someone out there can help me-
I am trying to understand why coaches would vote no to allow athletes
to wear watches during athletic competition. Specifically XC but TF
as well I guess-
If the National Federation allows them to be worn during competition,
why do we in MI continue to not allow them? - NXN MW Deadline
