- Sir Cathcart Rides Again
Alan Cathcart, the most experienced motorcycle journalist in the world, rode the 08 990 C1 last Saturday 101808. Mr. Cathcart was one of the 3 original journalists to test the first Proof of Concept bike. This was his first time to see, hear and ride the latest spec, preproduction C1 Alan was very impressed. The MotoCzysz C1 presents unique advantages in terms of motorcycle dynamics that deserve to reach the marketplace. Its not until you ride it that you realize how much improved its handling and performance are compared to a conventional inline four. Alan Cathcart Mr. Cathcarts comments echo those of earlier test riders, like Jeremy McWilliams, who called the C1 the best turning bike ever. Look for Alan Cathcarts riding impressions of the C1 that will be published in magazines around the world. -Posted: 2008-10-18 - MotoCzysz C1 Featured in July 2008 Cycle World Magazine
On that day and at that track, I felt nothing that would hold me back from going quicker and quicker. In fact, thats what happened during each of my laps. Had Czysz handed me a bike and said, This ones going to the crusher so tear it up, I wouldnt have held anything in reserve. But he never said that, so I rode with the modicum of nervousness a journalist should feel when piloting a 1 million prototype. Nick Ienatsch -Posted: 2008-06-01 - Cycle World Exclusive First Ride
Nick Ienatsch took his first ride on the MotoCzysz C1 preproduction version at LVMS last week. Ienatsch has tested virtually every iteration of the MotoCzysz C1 dating back to the original prototype. After spending a great amount of time with the current spec C1 and reviewing the week of testing, Ienatsch said, Last week I rode a missilethe preproduction MotoCzysz C1. This is the bike Michael Czysz envisioned when he drew all this up three years ago. The MotoCzysz team's incredibly hard work has paid off in a bike that stops, turns and accelerates fantastically well. The basics are right on this bike and now the team can turn its attention to the details, to polishing and perfecting a bike with revolutionary ideas. As good as it was last week...and it was damn good...refinement of this technology could very well yield a sportbike measurably better than what is currently on the market. During their latest and ultimately most successful test to date, MotoCzysz lapped LVMS at a blistering pace. We felt the bike could have achieved record lap times today said Czysz. The event was to be a typical test to evaluate all the new parts on the latest C1 and MotoCzysz followed a very specific testing matrix. However, on Tuesday night after reviewing the data from the previous day Czysz asked his engineers for a new strategy and series of algorithms for the fly by wire throttles and engine management system. Working late into the evening, MotoCzysz engineers reconfigured several pages of code and Czysz estimated over 100 data points. By the 3rd outing the following morning the bike had been transformed. All the strides the team had made in increasing combustion efficiency and reducing friction back at the shop in Portland along with the trackside improved software elevated the MotoCzysz C1 into a bike that circulated the track like a motorcycle that could have been engineered in Japan, a motorcycle that could have been designed in Italy but sounded like a motorcycle that could have only been made in America.Read more or take a virtual lap -Posted: 2008-03-19 - MotoCzysz to host US Premier of Discovery Documentary

At California Speedway, Honda resumed testing of the 2 dimensional suspension system pioneered by MotoCzysz. Michael Czysz took his patented MotoCzysz 6X Flex concept and designed a pair of triple clamps that offered a degree of measured and adjustable lateral flex. The 2D system replaces the stock triple clamps and can accommodate either standard or superbike forks. Several spring rates and dampening rates were tested throughout the day. In previous tests both Miguel Duhamel, and Jake Zemke gave MotoCzysz valuable feedback and MotoCzysz returned to Fontana with a much improved and tested system. First up was Steve Atlas on Corona Hondas customer available FX Factory Kit Bike. Atlas immediately shaved over 1.5 seconds a lap with the new 2D parts, and felt immediately more comfortable pushing the bike with new parts his times reflected his added confidence. Josh Hayes then took a small break in testing his A Erion factory racer to ride his B bike which had been fitted with a MotoCzysz 2D front end. Hayes also set his fastest lap of the test on his B Erion Honda 600 FX bike running the MotoCzysz 2D parts. MotoCzysz and especially Michael Czysz would like to thank Honda, American Honda, the riders, and the crew who have taken the time to help and evaluate new concepts for motorcycles. It has been our honor to work with a company that is the gold standard for professionalism in our sport and we look forward to supplying other parts to Honda for evaluation in the future. -Posted: 2008-02-01 - MotoCzysz Documentary US Dates Released

Jeremy McWilliams, easily the most experienced test rider in the industry rode the MotoCzysz 07 C1990 for the first time in a private test at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT June 20, 2007. McWilliams whose test and development experience includes the Aprilia cube MotoGP bike both KR 3 cylinder 2stroke and 5 cylinder 4stroke machines, BMW's 990 and 800 MotoGP prototypes, the Buell XB9RR and the Ilmor 800 MotoGP machine.Jeremy told a journalist after his ride that the C1 was the best turning bike ever.MotoCzysz has become increasingly confident that Czysz's theories were actually resulting in a better turning motorcycle. We can now consider the design frozen for the first model and focus entirely on final engine development and prepare the bike for production. Listening to Jeremy talk about how easy it was to turn or transition our bike in comparison with everything he has ridden, was simply one of the best things I have ever heard said Michael Czysz.Jeremy went on to sayI thoroughly enjoyed my outing on MC's prototype, firstly I was surprised at how nimble the bike turned, steered and changed direction. My feeling was that this Motorcycle easily took the least amount of effort for a bike of this capacity to fire it into a turn, to steer into the apex of that turn needed little effort. It really came into its own when I was pushing through the Chicane at Miller, in this type of turn the MotoCzysz changes direction with minimal input and I always found that I had room to push harder. It was refreshing to work with such enthusiastic designers and the future has to be good for one of the best looking sport bikes I've had the pleasure to test... -Posted: 2007-06-25
